Story 1
How has HIV and AIDS affected me? It has affected me this way. I've known a few people who have this disease and it made me think twice about having unprotected . I know how to use and always be protected because the risks of getting something is too high. If I was to get it I know my life wouldn't be over. I would have to stop doing a lot of things but I know I'd be able to deal with it.

Story 2
AIDS has effected my life in many ways. About 4 years ago I knew somebody that was living with AIDS. His name was Matt and he worked with my mother. One night I was at home with my mother and she received a phone call that Matt had just passed. He was in the hospital for 2 months. I was so surprised because I never knew somebody with AIDS and for him to die was an even bigger shock. Other ways that AIDS and HIV has affected me is because I am gay. I am 17 and a girl. Straight people think that all gay and lesbian people carry the virus and that is totally not true. I know straight people who have HIV. People need to stop stereotyping and start realizing gays are people too. AIDS doesn't have a preference.

Story 3
In my life I have only known one person who has died of AIDS. He was may uncle and my best friend. My family says I remind them of him. He died when I was nine years old. To this day I cry and feel sad because a virus took my uncle away from me.

I also have counselor who is infected. He is one of my favorite people in the world. I have know him for four years. If anything would happen to him I would be so shattered and upset. I am also a teenager who is very disciplined when it comes to . To me the best way to avoid an STD is not to have . I am scared of the virus and I hope it never infects me.
